Confederate flag banned by the army and navy and nascar to be flown at roaring knob.
Rick Jones owner of Roaring Knob Raceway made the following statement on the official Facebook page for the track:
What Rick Jones has failed to see is the pain and the hurt his action will cause people. As a parent of black children, this venue is the last place on earth I would to take my children. If the military who are really standing for the rights of America, have banned the flag, the only thing you are doing is saying, "I do not stand for the rights of the American people" and rather that you are standing for your own ideology which the world is fast moving beyond as society evolves.
An even more poignant point is, it was AN AMERICAN VETERAN who suggested to Colin Kaepernick to take a kneel rather than remain seated during the national anthem. What Rick Jones has done has proven to either not understand the issue at hand or proven he is a racist.
Culture and Motorsport
For any motorsport and any track to survive, we have to grow, we have to evolve and throw away archaic ideals and move forward with society being inclusive to all and not exclusive. Allow people to kneel. Allow people the freedoms you claim to hold dear. If not, do not consider yourself a true American patriot.
